Over the weekend Lynn partnered with Florida Atlantic University to host the Florida Resident Assistant Seminar. FRAS, camera, action! A Knightowl Production was the theme of this year’s seminar, encompassing the idea that we are all superstars in our own lives and on campus.
Over 25 schools, and 250 superstars were in attendance this weekend, the five superstars representing Lynn were; Jake Lipanni, sophomore, Jerry Hoffman, junior, Javier Oriozola, Sophmore, Juliana Grillo, Senior and Autumn Barr, senior.
For four of the five RAs this was their first experience at FRAS, and it was very exciting, and different.
“It’s an event full of energy, spirit, and students all full of lots of personality.” Julianno Grillo, Senior, explains.
“R-O-C-K, YOU ROCK, YOU ROCK!!!!” Our Ras were greeted to the first event Friday night in the Wold by hearing those words. All of the RAs were dressed in matching costumes to go with the theme/movie they chose to represent their school. Lynn’s movie of choice was “The Dark Knight.”
“We chose The Dark Knight because it was fitting with us,” Jerry Hoffman, Juniorexplains ,“being heroes for our residents and the fighting knights.”

The night in the Wold came to an end around 11pm the RAs all traveled back to the Embassy Suites, where they were staying for the weekend to rest up for the long but valuable day ahead of them.
Arriving at FAU around 9am, RAs were able to attended around 25 planned programs, presented by their fellow delegates. These were all presented on various topics related to diversity, programs, retention, conflicts etc. Some presentations presented were retention in organizations, maintaining a family among RA staffs, avoiding burnout for leaders,” and importance maintaining good PR for RAs.
After spending all day in the classrooms at FAU, the students returned back to the hotel for a fabulous dinner and banquet. RAs dressed to impress at the banquet and learned the fait of the coveted spirit cup, which went to St. Leo University.
